Another season of GMAA hockey has ended and, once again, the four JRHS Sport Études hockey teams (coached by the Pro Action Hockey staff) have finished among the best in the league. Congratulations to the Peewee Team on winning the GMAA championship, making it two in a row for John Rennie. The Girls’ team made it to the play-off finals, while the Bantam and Juvenile Boys’ teams each played in the semi-finals. Congratulations to everyone on another successful hockey season. Well done!

Hats for Haiti

Please click on image for larger view

On Tuesday January 19th, students and staff at JRHS held a "Hats for Haiti" fund raiser for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Staff and students paid $1.00 for the privilege to wear a hat for the day.  The students’ hands were stamped as proof of payment.  Many students, who did not wear hats donated money anyway, and their hands were stamped because they "had a heart."

We were able to raise over $5000.00 to help Haiti; the Canadian government will match this amount! To date we have never experienced such a generous response on the part of our students. We feel that our students felt less helpless about the tragic event in Haiti because we gave them the opportunity to help in some way! Thank you to the John Rennie Community for your participation.
